Indian Summer (2005)

I bought Indian Summer from London. This time I didn't even care about the music as much I cared about the cardboard box that covers the CD's. It's just so beautiful! Simple white box with a very warm, nice picture in the front. Now, after a few months I started listening to the music and found many good club sounds that impressed me much.
Indian Summer is a double CD compilation of Indian music. The music does not always remind Bhangra or Bollywood or some other typical sounds from India, but it's very good. I guess the reason is that the name of the album means two things: second meaning is warm summer days in September.

I have never heard of Orellana, but her? track Silver Dew (Temple Dream Mix) is extremely good trip-hop style music. Definitely something to play at the club and to mix it with some bollywood samples, maybe!? A little bit sad track, because of it's piano sounds, but sad is beautiful, isn't it?
Actually there are only three artists that I knew before listening to the album: Nitin Sawhney, Badmarsh&Shri and Tim Deluxe. So this album is full of fresh tunes. Fourth track called Punjabi Love Affair by Al-pha-X is wild! This is definitely one of the best house tracks with Indian tunes!

Bagstra P's C'est La Vie (Shingin mix) is another nice downtempo track. Great tabla drums in it! Mantra's Monsoon is also worth mentioning from the first CD.

Second CD starts with Nitin Sawhney's excellent Bengali Song. This is the kind of a track that has at least two different tracks in it. At some point it is very nice usual Nitin Sawhney, next few seconds it's all about jazz music and then again it's typical Nitin Sawhney's low tempo music with a great male vocal. Definitely something to listen again and again!

Interesting is that there are two identically same tracks on two different CD's. Which is the correct name for the song? I don't now! This is a major blunder anyways! Bagstra P's C'est La Vie and Cheb Basle's Sweet Dreams are exactly the same tracks! Disappointing!!! The only positive side of this mistake is that this song is actually a very nice one.

This double album is dedicated to Isobel. I think Isobel was disappointed to listen to that album because of that mistake. Otherwise a good compilation of somewhat dreaming sounds. There was something very soft in every track, no energetic tracks this time!
